Curly Goth Hair Styles

Having curly hair is a blessing and a curse. I have come a long way to accept my "curly clown hair". I use to exclusively wear my hair straight for most of my teens to my twenties. When I turned thirty and my mom got sick I decided to embrace the gift she gave me of my curly hair. It has taken a long time but I now embrace my curls. My hair has grown down to the mid of my back, and I love it.

Styling however can be a struggle with long curly hair. I typically tend to wear my hair in braids the days I have no plans to go out. On the days I do go out, hairstyle planning is a must. I have to know what I'm going to do with my hair before I even step foot in the shower. I have compiled a short list of hairstyles that have been my go to for the last several years.

The Double Bun

This hairstyle took me a while, like I said my hair is long and combing it into the right position takes longer then I'd like to admit. Its a cute style though that perfect for when you don't want to deal with your hair to much. I do like to braid some of my bangs for a bit of texture and diversity to the look.

High Pigtails w/Braids

I almost always get compliments when I do the double high pointy tail. It is another hairstyle that takes time to do. But I do love this one, lots and lots of curly hair specific moose.

High Low

This hair style is a bit lower maintnence then my others. I do have to use a lot of product to keep the curls in check. I put the high hair in braids then put it in a pony. This time I didn't put tighs at the ends of the braids and they managed to stay in place. It was probably all the mouse I used.

Side Ponytail

This hair style is the easiest to put together. I usually add a braid for whimsy. Having curly hair for me at least has been a style to style it. I prefer to style it wet but maybe my next hair post will be about dry styling it, which you would do if your after a fuller hair style. Happy styling!
