Goth Parenting

When I became a parent I couldn't wait to dress my little person all gothy and punky. As my oldest grew his taste changed and now he dress himself colorfully and in fandoms. When I found out my second child was a girl I couldn't wait to dress her like a little vampire princess and raise her in my dark wonderland!

Reby Hardy and Gothic Baby managed to capitalize on gothic baby around the same year I gave birth to my little moonbeam. Watching Gothic Baby inspired me and my bergining little gothy, witchy baby bat.

I am excited to share some of the things that we use to help us raise our baby bat!

The goth parenting book is the perfect addition to our gothic library. Sitting along side Gothic Charm School, Paint it Black and the Complete Works of Edger Allen Poe this book rounds out our gothic world view and my child's if they are interested. It doesn't hurt to keep creepy plushies around the house too. Wednesday and Scary Teddy were picked out by my daughter. (It starts small.)

Gothic baby is such a cute book. It really does illustrate that even a goths world can be colorful and how we really shouldn't be judging other on their appearance. The bat sippy cup, which is helping us to ween the two year old off of the bottle was purchased from Witching Hour Baby.

Diaper Bag

By

Black Craft Cult

Both my husband and I love this diaper bag. It came with a gothy changing pad and sugar tit case that clips on the side. It has great storage and can hold her mini backpack with toys as well as her diapers (pull ups now!) and wipes!

Dress in Black

My little baby bat loves to dress up and wears mostly black although she is coming into her kawaii era and loves to wear pink as much as she loves to wear black and frilly. It helps that her mom makes her clothes and both my kids love having custom clothes made just for them. However the pink and black dress pictured she picked out from Spirit Halloween. She called it her Halloween Barbie dress even though it was a "toddler witch dress". As long as she enjoys dressing in black Ill keep making her black clothes to wear.

Growing Up in a Goth Store

When I was little my dad owned many restaurants'. I grew up learning customer service, hostessing, cooking and managing a cafe. I would have traded it in a heart beat to have gown up in a gothic store where my parents were the artisans. My little baby bat loves spending time in the store with me and hanging out, helping out and decorating with me. My hopes is she will grow up with an appreciation for hard work and different subcultures.
